Animal Science is a branch of science that includes the production, breeding, nutrition, and improvement of economically important animals.
The aim of the Department of Animal Science is to conduct qualified research for the production of healthy and sufficient animal food from farm to table, thus enhancing the quality of life in society. It also aims to train Agricultural Engineers who are equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills, and who possess the universal qualifications of the profession.
The department covers a wide range of topics, including the breeding, feeding, and animal improvement of livestock (cattle, buffalo, and horses), small ruminants (sheep, goats), poultry (chickens, quails, turkeys, geese, ducks, ostriches), and other animals (bees, rabbits, etc.). Additionally, it encompasses various subjects such as feeds and alternative feed resources, biotechnology in animal husbandry, the use of computers in animal production, trials and planning, project feasibility, organization, organic farming, and good agricultural practices.
