Purpose of the Program
Zootechnics is a branch of science that deals with the breeding, reproduction, care-feeding and improvement of domestic animals in order to produce animals and animal products economically. The main objectives of the department are to train zootechnicians/agricultural engineers who will serve in the field of animal husbandry, to train scientists, and to contribute to animal husbandry science at regional, national and international levels by planning and conducting R&D activities.

Graduates of the Department of Animal Science have the opportunity to easily find jobs in animal husbandry sectors that operate outside the public sector, especially due to the changes in animal husbandry in our country in recent years. Some of these sectors are; dairy cattle enterprises, beef cattle enterprises, poultry enterprises (broiler and egg-laying enterprises), ostrich, quail and other poultry breeding enterprises and beekeeping enterprises, feed factories, SEK, EBK, Ziraat Bank, TAGEM, TİGEM, private feed analysis laboratories, domestic and foreign private companies marketing feed additives.
